FAQ
How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?
The best therapist is the one that you feel you can trust, and who you believe can help you grow and change. You are never obligated to stay in a therapeutic relationship if it's not right. You will not hurt my feelings if I'm not a good fit for you. I recommend consulting with more than one therapist to get a sense of your options and make a choice that feels best for you. Some people have an easy time knowing what feels like a "good fit", and others struggle. I encourage you to ask me questions to help you understand what you're looking for, and if I am it.
How do I get started:
We'll start with a free 15 minute consultation by phone to determine if this could be a good fit.
First sessions include an assessment to hone in on what problem(s) you want to address in therapy, gather a broad overview of your background and values, and craft a plan for how we'll work together.
Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?
Both! I have an office located in inner SE Portland where I see clients, and I also offer virtual therapy sessions. Please note that there are a few steps to enter my office. If stairs are a barrier for you, we can meet virtually, or discuss alternative options.
How does payment work?
I offer a sliding scale from $125 - $185. I am also currently in-network for the following insurance providers: (Coming Soon). You may be responsible for a co-pay at the time of service. Please contact your insurer to determine your co-pay and whether you have a yearly deductible that must be met before you may use your benefits. I am also happy to provide you with an invoice (called a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance which may reimburse you for all or a portion of the cost of counseling. I make no guarantees about reimbursement.
Under the No Surprises Act, when you do not use insurance to pay a provider for services you are protected from surprise billing. You are entitled to a "Good Faith Estimate" at the time of the services to help you project the cost. For more information visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
